Southern Comfort is running one of the dopest commercials in play right now (which says a lot because Nike is deep in its olympic campaign we know they don’t fuck around).
I first caught it during sundays Breaking Bad that I was watching on DVR. I stopped fast forwarding because I thought it was the show and didn’t realize my mistake until the end of the commercial.
Like my little sister, I consider this a happy mistake because it’s a top notch spot with an incredible song and deserves some recognition for a couple reasons. Song is dope, it’s “Hit Or Miss” by Odetta. What’s widely impressive about this use is I don’t think this song exists in the digital realm. Whoever placed this song dug deep, either in their past or their crates. I know it from DJ Shadows and Cut Chemist’s “Brainfreeze” (a set where they spin only 45’s).
I’d post a download link, but like I said, an mp3 doesn’t exist. Gotta find on wax, lemme know if anyone does…
